Bore Condition: The bore is dark and has oxidation/pitting.
Description:

"1852" dated Palmetto Armory lock, "1853" dated barrel tang, and "WM GLAZE & CO" marked barrel with the "P/V/palmetto" proofs. These Model 1842 pistols were manufactured in for the South Carolina militia and are presumed to have seen Confederate use in the Civil War.

Rating Definition:

Fair with lighter gray patina on most of the barrel, darker patina on the lock, oxidation, pitting, file marks, loose lock mortise, cracks and repairs in the stock, musket sized nipple, and moderate wear. Mechanically fair (stiff trigger pull).
