Two Antique Percussion American Long Rifles

A) Carved, Engraved, and Silver Inlaid American Long Rifle

Manufactured c. 1830s-1840s. No visible markings. Likely Bedford, PA, region. Nice spread wing eagle engraved on the cheekpiece.

ConditionGood with dark brown along the barrel and lock, moderate pitting at the breech and lock plate, attractively aged patina on the brass mounts and silver inlays, generally distinct engraving and markings, and some cracks and chips in the stock. The triggers/lock need adjustments to function consistently.

B) American Long Rifle

Manufactured c. mid-19th century. "J. LITTLE" marked on the upper left at the breech and "JOSV GOLCHER" marked back action lock.

ConditionGod with dark brown patina, moderate pitting, cracks and chips in the stock, piece of the toe plate absent, and general heavy wear. The trigger needs work, but the rifle functions.
