A) T. French & Kinsley U.S. 1808 Contract Musket

Description:

Thomas French, Blake and Adam Kinsley of Canton, Massachusetts were awarded a U.S. government contract for 4,000 muskets on October 20th, 1808, with deliveries between 1810-1814. "1813" date marked at the tail of the lock with "US" in an oval above "T.FRENCH" at the center. Includes a socket bayonet.

Rating Definition:

Good, with gray and brown patina, scattered pitting and wear. Stock is also good as sanded and re-oiled, undersized at some of the edges, with scattered dents and scratches. Absent rear barrel band spring. Hammer does not remain in the cocked position, mechanically needs work. Bayonet is also good.

Rating Definition:

Good as refinished, with brown patina, scattered pitting and some wear. Stock is also good as sanded and re-oiled, with scattered dents and scratches. Mechanically fine. Bayonet is also good.
