Description:

This attractive and lengthy smoothbore sporting gun from the late 18th century was produced by Durs Egg in London c. 1790 and measures a full 70 inches from muzzle to heel. Unknown bore obstruction at breech. Provenance: The Wilfrid Ward Collection; The Norman R. Blank Collection

Rating Definition:

Fine with bright gold inlays, aged patina on the silver, distinct markings, mostly crisp engraving, mottled gray and brown patina throughout along with some mild pitting, sliver absent from the left edge of the forend, cracked barrel channel, and general mild overall wear. Mechanically fine.
