Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and has crisp engraving and minor oxidation.
Description:

Signed "CONTRINER" on the barrel and "IN WIEN" on the lock. Originally built in the Contriner shop in Vienna in the early 19th century using an early fulminate priming system and later converted by Joseph Egg c. 1830 to use the then new percussion caps by fitting a casehardened breech plug marked "JOSH EGG'S/COPPER CAPS" on top. Rating Definition:

Very good with much of the original finish, gray and brown patina on the balance, replacement lock screw, short ramrod, part of the forend cap absent, entry pipe loose (screw absent), a sliver absent along the left side of the forend, and mild overall wear. The trigger adjustment screw is absent, but the rifle is mechanically fine.
