A) Lend-Lease U.S. Winchester Model 1917 Rifle

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright with strong rifling and oxidation in the grooves.
Description:

Receiver manufactured in 1918. "W/flaming bomb/8-18" barrel with importer mark on the underside, "eagle head/J-13" and "eagle head /J-16" proofed receiver, "E" marked bolt renumbered to match, with "E" bolt sleeve and "EN" cocking piece. Fitted with an "E" marked and "eagle head/25" proofed walnut stock set with a red band and black "30/06" painted on the forend, and a Canadian type "broad arrow" stamp on the right of the buttstock, likely indicating British/Canadian Lend-Lease use during World War II.

Rating Definition:

Very good, retaining original blue finish with scattered light edge wear, arsenal refurbished trigger housing/floorplate, thinning on the bands, barrel, and buttplate, scattered minor patches of spotting/brown patina visible, and mild handling marks. The stock is fine as re-oiled with scattered minor scratches and dents. Mechanically excellent.

Description:

Receiver manufactured in 1943, "RA/flaming bomb/3-43" marked barrel, and "R" marked bolt, bolt sleeve, and upper band. Fitted with a 'S' profile stock with a faint boxed "FJA" (Col. Frank J. Atwood) inspector stamp on the left side. Includes a M1 pattern web sling.

Rating Definition:

Fine as arsenal refurbished, with scattered minor pitting under the finish, scattered minor spotting/brown patina showing, light cycling wear, and light handling marks. The stock is very good as sanded and re-oiled with scattered minor scrapes and dents. Mechanically excellent.
