A) U.S. Springfield Armory Model 1903 Bolt Action Rifle

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright with strong rifling and minor oxidation.
Description:

Receiver manufactured in 1918, "S A/flaming bomb/1 42" marked arsenal replacement barrel, "BF/21" swept-handle bolt, "R" (Remington Arms) trigger housing, and "H" bayonet lug. Fitted with a World War II era replacement walnut handguard and 'scant' profile walnut stock, marked with "JF" (unknown) and "RA-P" (U.S. Raritan Arsenal) rebuild stamp on the left of the wrist. Includes a nickel oiler in the butt trap and a M1 pattern web sling.

Rating Definition:

Fine as arsenal refurbished, retaining much of the finish with some minor edge wear, scattered minor patches of visible brown patina/spotting, dried grease, some minor freckling, and light handling marks. The replacement stock is also fine as sanded and re-oiled with some light bruises and handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

Description:

January 1944 production receiver, "SA" marked and "11 64" dated replacement barrel with bright chamber ring, "-19SA/O-15" marked bolt, post-war "SA" operating rod, "12" follower, and "-14-SA" trigger housing with "-5 SA" hammer and unmarked safety. Fitted with walnut handguards and a replacement birch stock.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as arsenal refurbished, retaining much of the finish with light edge wear, dried grease, thinning on the gas cylinder, light cycling wear, and light handling marks. The stock is fine as sanded and re-oiled with numerous mild dents and chips. Mechanically excellent.
