A) U.S. Harpers Ferry Model 1816 Musket

Description:

"HARPERS/FERRY/1828" vertically marked at the tail of the lock with the Federal Eagle above "US" at the center, no visible date on the barrel tang, partly visible "V/P/eagle head" proofs at the upper left breech of the barrel.

Rating Definition:

Very good with brown and gray patina, and some scattered patches of pitting. Stock is also very good as re-oiled, with scattered dents, scratches, small holes, and a few cracks and chips. Absent head on the rear lock screw. Mechanically fine.

"REMINGTON'S/ILION.N.Y./1858/U.S." marked tail of the lock, "1858" dated barrel tang, "N.J" New Jersey marking on the left breech flat.

Rating Definition:

Good with brown and gray patina, some scattered patches of pitting, and an added brazed section around the face of the hammer. Stock is also very good as re-oiled, with scattered dents, scratches, small holes, and a few cracks and chips. Absent ram rod. Absent retaining catch for the primer door, otherwise mechanically fine.
