Bore Condition: The smooth bore is darkened with pitting/corrosion.
Description:

Manufactured c. 1760s-1770s. Partly legible "DUBLIN/CASTLE" marked vertically at the tail of the lock with a crown royal cypher above "GR" at the center, upper left breech of the barrel marked with sunken oval London proofs around what appears to be a "*/RW" maker marking of Richard Wilson, "I/36" inscribed on the wrist plate, likely for the 36th man of I company, and "I7th Regt/Ist Bn" inscribed on top of the butt, likely the 17th Regiment of Foot.

Rating Definition:

Good as refinished, with brown patina, pitting and wear. Stock is also good as sanded and re-oiled, with scattered dents, scratches, cracks and chips. Absent ramrod. Mechanically fine.
