Description:

The Model 1763/66 muskets were among the most heavily used firearms by the American rebels to fight the British during the Revolutionary War. "US" surcharge marking on the tail of the lock, partly visible faded "St. ETIENNE" below a "crown/H" inspection mark at the center of the lock, "V" stamped on the left stock flat, and an inlaid small circular collection plaque numbered "543" on the bottom of the stock ahead of the trigger guard.

Rating Definition:

Fair as reconverted to flintlock, with gray patina, wear, scattered light to mild pitting, a filled in section on top of the barrel from a previous bayonet lug, and some replacement screws and small parts. Stock is good as sanded and re-oiled, with scattered dents, scratches, chips, cracks, and a reattached section visible above the lock. Mechanically fine.
