Description:

Manufactured c. mid-17th century. With two-stage barrel engraved "LAZARINO COMINAZZO". Flat lock with chiseled dog-head on the tail and engraved "GIO. FRANCESE. IN. BRESCIA." Well-figured walnut three-quarter stock with shaped sculpted butt and iron mounts. Provenance: The Norman R. Blank Collection

Rating Definition:

Fine with mostly bright steel, minor oxidation and light brown patina on the breech end, crisp engraving and chiseled designs, faint crack in the spur of the cock, restored stock with crisp detailing and attractive figure and grain, some faint hairline cracks, and general minor overall wear. Mechanically excellent.
