Similar pistols date to the late 17th century in Northern Italy. The barrel is marked "LAZARINO COMINAZZO". The lock was converted from snaphance to flintlock maker's mark is fainter and appears to be "Franco Lavano" or "Franco Larano".

Good as partially restored, particularly the stock, with mostly gray patina, some oxidation, mostly distinct designs throughout, absent belt hook, and moderate wear. Mechanically needs work (sear spring assembly absent).
