Per "The Official Record of the Colt Single Action Army Revolver, 1873-1895", Colt manufactured 275 .450 Boxer/Eley Target Model revolvers. Of these, 230 were finished in blue and had 7 1/2 inch barrels. The included factory letter lists this revolver as a "Colt Single Action Flattop Target Revolver" in .450 Eley with a 7 1/2 inch barrel, blue finish, and rubber grips when it was part of a shipment of 18 revolvers of this type sent to Colt's London Agency on May 28, 1894. The revolver comes in a leather case with "E. C." in gilt letters on the outside of the lid, a reproduction Holland & Holland label inside the lid, empty cartridges block, Holland & Holland oiler, slot for cleaning rods (not included), and two lidded compartments. Fine with much of the original blue finish, mottled gray and brown patina on the balance, oxidation/pitting, and mild overall wear. Mechanically functions fine aside from the hammer dropping intermittently. The case is very good with age and storage related wear.
