Only a total of 976 Bisley Flattop Target revolvers were manufactured by Colt, and only an estimated 62 were in .44 Russian. The factory letter lists this revolver as a "Bisley Target Model" in .44 Russian with a 7 1/2 inch barrel and blue finish (grips not listed) and indicates it was the sole gun of this type in a shipment to Simmons Hardware Co., St. Louis, Missouri, (H.E.
