Manufactured c. 1875-1881. Matching numbered barrel marked "40-90" at the breech with a ramrod/cleaning under the barrel like the No. 5 Pacific, adjustable globe front sight, Vernier peep sight, double set triggers, loop lever, checkered forearm with pewter cap, and smooth buttstock with a cheekpiece and a Swiss buttplate. A similar special order Ballard No. 5 Pacific is shown on page 162 of "Ballard: The Great American Single Shot Rifle" by Dutcher. Includes a Wilkinson loader (two funnels and research included), assorted reloading tools, and approximately 80 3 1/16 inch Everlasting brass cartridge cases.
