A) Scarce Whitney Variant Model 1842 "New Hampshire" Rifled Musket with Bayonet

Bore Condition: The bore is darkened with pitting/corrosion and visible rifling.
Description:

"1852" dated barrel tang, with "NEW HAMPSHIRE" marking on top of the breech of the barrel, and a correct Sharps Model 1853 type rear sight. Whitney Model 1842 "New Hampshire" rifled muskets are described on pages 455-459 of George D. Moller's book "American Military Shoulder Arms Volume III". Includes a socket bayonet.

Rating Definition:

Very good with scattered freckling and crisp markings. Stock is also very good with a few scattered dents and handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
