Description:

Manufactured c. mid-19th century. "O.P TAYLOR" marked rear sight, barrel, and drum. "MOORE" marked lock.

Rating Definition:

Fair with dark brown patina, moderate pitting at the breech, aged patina on the brass mounts, absent front sight blade, re-oiled stock with loss at the breech and some cracks and chips, and general moderate wear. The nipple is out of alignment, but the lock and triggers function.

Rating Definition:

Fair with dark brown patina, modifications/repairs, refinishing, cracks and repairs in the stock, mild pitting at the breech, and general moderate wear. Mechanically fine.

Bore Condition: The bore is dark and has oxidation and distinct rifling.
Description:

"W. McCULLOUGH/BROOKVILLE PA" marked on top of the barrel and again on the right side and "Henry Parker/Warranted" marked lock. William McCullough is identified as active in Brookville, Pennsylvania, c. 1830-1860 and then served in C Company of the 2nd U.S. Sharpshooters, and was wounded and captured at Second Bull Run.

Rating Definition:

Good as shortened approximately 3 inches and displaying mostly brown patina, mild oxidation/pitting, aged patina on the mounts, and moderate overall wear including some wood lost at the breech and crack at the barrel tang. Mechanically fine.
