Manufactured around the end of the 18th century to early 19th century. The lock has the punzon of Antonio Guisasola of Eibar, Spain, as noted on the included display plaque which also notes that Spanish escopetas were popular in Northern Mexico and the American Southwest from 1675-1830.

Fair with gray and brown patina, oxidation/pitting, cut forend, some cracks in the stock, and moderate wear. Mechanically fine.
