This is an example of a World War II K98k rifle with "bcd/4" Gustloff Werke manufacturer code marked receiver ring that was upgraded to sniper configuration. Professionally made modern scope rail fitted on the receiver. Includes an adjustable "dow+" marked scope numbered "23637" on the tube, with a professionally made modern scope ring mount assembly numbered "57820" on the side. Matching serial number "57820" on the renumbered bolt assembly, inside of the handguard channel, and inside of the stock channel. Non-matching numbered rear sight slide piece, unnumbered "SVW" code stamped trigger housing, and unnumbered "byf" code stamped floorplate.

Very good as refinished and reconfigured/assembled as a sniper rifle, with some finish, smooth brown and gray patina on the balance, and scattered patches of light pitting visible underneath the finish. Stock is also good as sanded and re-oiled, with some scattered light dents and scratches. Absent cleaning rod. Mechanically excellent. Scope is very good with clear optics.
