Description:

36 1/2" OAL, 26 1/2" blade with chogi-style hamon, and standard fittings. The tang has one mekugi-ana, with an eight-figure signature on the right, seven-figure signature on the left, and an additional two figures in the polished area under the habaki. Consignor statements attribute the signature to Tadayoshi, a Showa-era smith operating in Izumo Province, with a date of 1943.

Rating Definition:

Good as sharpened, with a thin line of lost (otherwise strong and attractive) hamon along the edge, a few minor nicks, and light spotting on an otherwise attractive blade. Some dings and dents on the habaki and saya, otherwise the furniture is in good order.
