Bore Condition: The bore is partially darkened with strong rifling and oxidation.
Description:

Manufactured in 1918. "Crown/G.R." cyphered and "1918" dated receiver socket with "27" rebuild date on the left. Matching numbers on the bolt and nose cap, and forend, with the rear sight re-numbered to match.

Rating Definition:

Fine as arsenal refurbished, retaining much of the finish with light edge wear, a sheared nose cap screw, some minor pitting, light spotting/surface rust, some scattered visible patches of brown patina, and crisp receiver socket markings. The furniture is very good as sanded and re-oiled with some small cracks in the rear handguard, an arsenal splice repair at the rear of the handguard, some light scrapes, and scattered minor dents. The safety lever is broken off, otherwise mechanically fine.

Description:

Receiver manufactured in 1943, from the first production block (serial number range 1,000,000 to 1,349,999) manufactured by Winchester from October 1942 to December 1943. "7-44" dated Underwood replacement barrel, unmarked type III barrel band, "I.R.CO." adjustable peep rear sight, "E" type IV operating rod, "AOB" parkerized round-top bolt, and a "W" milled trigger housing, unmarked push-button safety, unmarked type IV magazine catch, and "GM P" Type III hammer. Fitted with a walnut high-wood stock marked "S-HB" in the sling channel along with a boxed "BA/JPL" (U.S. Benicia Arsenal, unknown inspector) rebuild stamp on the left, a two-rivet handguard with illegible manufacturer mark, and a blued "SEY" 30-round magazine. Includes a "U" marked M3 detachable flash hider.

Rating Definition:

Fine as arsenal refurbished, retaining much of the finish with scattered light spotting/freckling, visible patches of brown patina, some dried grease, and otherwise some light handling marks. The stock is very fine as sanded and re-oiled. Mechanically excellent.
