Bore Condition: The bore is shiny with crisp rifling.
Description:

1956 production receiver, "SA" marked and "4 56" dated barrel with bright chamber ring, "SA/Y01" marked bolt, post-war "SA" operating rod, and post-war "SA" trigger housing with "SA" hammer and "SA-11" safety. Fitted with a boxed "DoD eagle" inspection stamped walnut stock set. Includes a Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) research letter, dated December 13, 2005, identifying the rifle by serial number as sold through the CMP in August 1997, and a matching M1 Garand data sheet, signed by noted M1 Garand author Scott A. Duff and dated June 27, 2005, confirming the rifle's current configuration with the added details of a throat erosion measurement of "2.0" and a muzzle wear measurement of "1.75".

Rating Definition:

Excellent, retaining most of the original parkerized finish with minor edge wear, light cycling wear, some limited brown patina visible, and minor handling marks. The stock is very fine with a few minor handling marks and crisp stamps. Mechanically excellent.
