Two U.S. Inland Mfg. Div. M1 Semi-Automatic Carbines

A) U.S. Inland Mfg. Div. M1 Carbine

Receiver manufactured in late 1942, from the first production block (serial number range 101 to 999,000) manufactured by Inland Manufacturing Division from May 1942 to December 1943. "10-42" dated Inland barrel, "AMCO" marked type III barrel band, "HI" type II adjustable peep rear sight, "PI" type II operating rod, "IO" blued flat-top bolt, and milled Inland trigger housing with unmarked push button safety, "HI" type III magazine catch, and unmarked type III hammer. Fitted with a walnut high-wood stock marked "IO" in the sling channel along with an "ordnance wheel" cartouche stamp on the right of the butt, "P" under the pistol grip, and boxed "RIA/EB" (U.S. Rock Island Arsenal, Elmer Bjerke) rebuild stamp on the left of the wrist, along with an unmarked two-rivet handguard. Includes a web sling and metal oiler. Magazine is absent.

ConditionVery fine as arsenal refurbished, retaining most of the finish with some minor edge wear, some minor pitting under the finish of the trigger housing and bolt, and minor handling marks. The stock is also very fine as sanded and re-oiled. Mechanically excellent.

B) U.S. Inland Mfg. Div. M1 Carbine

Receiver manufactured in late 1944 or early 1945, from the end of the fifth production block (serial number range 6,629,884 to 7,234,883) manufactured by the Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors from November 1944 to August 1945, which included M2 production. "12-44" dated Inland barrel, "AI" type III barrel band, "PI" type II adjustable peep rear sight, "P-I" type V operating rod, "A.I." blued round-top bolt, and milled Inland trigger housing with unmarked type IV magazine catch, "J.A.O." rotary safety, and unmarked type III hammer. Fitted with a walnut low-wood stock marked "SG" in the sling channel, a "P" marked four-rivet handguard, and a blued aftermarket magazine. Includes a web sling and metal oiler.

ConditionVery fine as arsenal refurbished, retaining most of the finish with light cycling wear, some minor edge wear, and light handling marks. The stock is fine as sanded and lacquered with some minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
