A) U.S. Saginaw S.G. M1 Carbine

Description:

Manufactured as part of Saginaw Steering Gears first production block between May 1943 to May 1944 in the 3250020-3651519 serial number range. Undated Saginaw barrel, "MMQ" marked type III barrel band, "N" front sight, "I.R.CO." rear sight, "A.I." flat top bolt, flip safety, "WA" magazine catch, Inland trigger housing, "PI" operating rod, unmarked four-rivet handguard, low wood stock with "AAL" arsenal rebuild stamp on the left wrist, "W" marked sling inlet, faintly visible "W.R.A./G.H.D." and crossed cannons cartouche on the right, and "26" painted in white on the bottom of the grip area. Includes a green canvas web sling and oiler. Import marked barrel. Absent magazine.

Rating Definition:

Very good as arsenal refurbished, with much of the finish, heavy filing marks on the right of the operating rod (concealed by the stock), and scattered freckling. Stock is good as sanded and re-oiled, with scattered light scratches and dents. Mechanically excellent.

Receiver manufactured as part of the only production block by International Business Machine between August 1943 to May 1944 in the 3651520-4009999 serial number range. "SA 2 52" marked replacement Springfield barrel, "Q" marked type III barrel band, "U" front sight, "I.R.CO." rear sight, "AI" flat top bolt, "W" recoil plate, flip safety, "EP-Q" magazine catch, Inland trigger housing, "AOB" operating rod, unmarked four-rivet handguard, low wood stock with "W" marked sling inlet. Absent magazine.

Rating Definition:

Good as arsenal refurbished, with most of the finish, with discoloration at the front of the receiver and edge wear. Stock is fine as sanded and re-oiled, with scattered light scratches and dents. Mechanically excellent.

Undated "W" Winchester barrel, "J.M.Q." type III barrel band, "N" front sight, "J.A.O" rear sight, "IO" flat top bolt, flip safety, "WA" magazine catch, "W" trigger housing, "PI" operating rod, "HI" four-rivet handguard, "RMC" marked sling inlet of the low wood stock. Includes a canvas web sling and oiler. Absent magazine.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as arsenal refurbished, with most of the finish. Stock is good as sanded and re-oiled, undersized, with some light handling marks and a modified smooth top of the handguard. Mechanically excellent.
