A) British Proofed U.S. Remington Arms Model 1903 Rifle

Bore Condition: The bore is shiny with crisp rifling.
Description:

Receiver manufactured in early 1942, "RA/flaming bomb/12-41" marked barrel, "R" (Remington Arms) marked bolt, barrel bands, and front sight cover. British proofs marked on the bolt handle, and left of the rear sight base and receiver, likely indicating Lend-Lease use by the British during World War II. Fitted with a walnut Remington Arms profile handguard and 'S' profile stock with "ordnance wheel" and "boxed "RLB" (Col. Ray L. Brolin) inspection stamps on the left of the wrist. Includes a "M.E.Co. 1941 broad arrow" marked British web sling.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retaining most of the original finish with plum coloration on the striker, some minor edge wear, scattered brown patina/dried grease visible, light cycling wear, some minor spotting, and minor handling marks. The stock is also very fine as re-oiled with some minor compression marks and clear stamps. Mechanically excellent.

Description:

Receiver manufactured c. 1943-1944. "SC/flaming bomb/1 43" marked barrel, "X" marked bolt. Fitted with a walnut handguard and 'S' profile stock with "ordnance wheel" and boxed "FJA" (Col. Frank J. Atwood) inspection stamps on the left of the wrist and a boxed "O.G" (U.S. Ogden Arsenal) rebuild stamp on the left of the butt. Includes a web sling.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as arsenal refurbished, retaining most of the finish with minor edge wear, light cycling wear, some minor spotting, some dried grease, and minor handling marks. Stock is also very fine as re-oiled. The flag safety can not be activated without pulling the striker rearward by hand, otherwise mechanically fine.
