Hopkins & Allen were major manufacturers of firearms from 1868 until 1915. They produced a range of affordable revolvers and pistols including spur trigger revolvers. This example is marked with the two-line address and patent information on the top of the barrel and "XL NO. 2" on the top strap. The matching serial number is marked on the grip frame and underside of each of the smooth grip panels. It includes a rare factory picture box.
Very fine. The revolver retains 95% of the original nickel plating with some light pitting on the right side of the frame near the trigger and some other small spots. The grips are very fine with some light scratches and marks and otherwise creamy tones. It is mechanically fine and has crisp markings. The box is fair with portions absent, repairs, and some hand markings. The most important component of the box is the picture lid which is mostly intact and clear.
