Similar in overall profile to the Model 1850 Field Officers Sword, as well as resembling known Civil War era non-regulation swords. 37 1/4 inches overall, with a 31 1/2 inch single fuller blade, with etched American patriotic decorations on both sides, a brass "PROVED" seal on the right ricasso, "IRON PROOF" on the spine and "SOLINGEN" stamped on the left. Brass guard, with a cut-through American eagle/"US" design, wire wrapped sharkskin grip and a helmet pommel with oak leaf decoration. The scabbard is iron.
