Description:

Charles Marion Russell (American; 1864-1926) sculptured this pair of American Indian plaques which were sold exclusively by the Abercrombie & Fitch department store in New York City from approximately 1920 to 1960. After the New York store closed, an advanced collector bought the remaining stock. The first plaque represents a young defiant Indian brave and the second plaque depicts the same warrior as an old passive Indian warrior that he turned into with the passing of time. Both plaques are signed on the obverse side "CM Russell" on one and "CMR" on the other. Dimensions: 4" tall by 3 1/4" wide. Weight: 2 pounds each.
