Michael Wittmann who according to information provided by the consignor was born on April 22, 1914 and later killed on August 8, 1944 near Gaumesnil, France. Wittman was awarded the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves on January 14th, 1944 and later was promoted to SS-Haupsturmfuhrer and awarded the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords on June 22, 1944.
