Description:

The lot consists of three transit chests, one painted brown and chiefly containing cavalry-themed gear, including tools for the care and maintenance of horses, and the other two painted green, with an assortment of military items within, including documents, maps, medals and uniform items, as well as a Naumann Erika typewriter with transport case. Both of the green painted chests and some of the contents of those chests are marked for a Guy Nowels; while not verified, this may be Lieutenant Colonel Guy Nowels of the U.S. Army, a Kansas-born veteran of World War II and Korea who was a postal worker and U.S. Customs officer in civilian life. Items are fair overall, showing wear and tear consistent with age and use. The Erika appears to be in good order, but has not been completely function tested. Provenance: The Steven Preston Military Collection
