1) L-shaped handle is relief engraved with floral motifs, a blank escutcheon, and a hammered texture, with the maker's mark of a lion head and "LYON/MAKER". The slender ebonized shaft is tipped with horn and it measures 36 1/4" overall. 2) Knob type gilt handle relief carved with flower motifs, inscribed "Asa W. Sweet/Birthday/March 20/and/1823 1887" on top, and "2/shield/50" hallmark. The shaft is likely ebony, tipped with iron/German silver, and measures 36 1/8" overall. Both are very fine, retaining most of the gilt and ebonized finishes with light wear and a couple minor insect holes in the horn tip.
