Includes the saddle (12 inch seat), saddle bags, and a pouch. Per consignor this saddle belong to Asa Hancock of Coventry, Vermont, who first enlisted in the 15th Vermont Volunteers in September 1862, was discharged for disability in May 1863, then in December 1863 apparently recovered, enlisted in Co. I of the 1st Vermont Cavalry, promoted to corporal in December 1864, transferred to Co. F in June 1865, mustering out August 9, 1865. The saddle came from his descendants. Condition: Good with moderate age and storage related wear and some absent components.
