The included factory letter lists the revolver in its current configuration (grips not listed) and indicates it was shipped to John P. Fishers Gun Shop in Peapack, New Jersey on January 2, 1962. Information included by the consignor states the revolver was previously owned by Earl Moore, WWII veteran and the former Chief of Police in Mendham, New Jersey. Life magazine, published an article on January 5, 1962 in which Mr. Moore was the subject after foiling an attempted bank robbery. According to the consignor, the revolver was ordered and purchased by Mr. Moore from John P. Fishers Gun Shop.
