Description:

The tunic is constructed primarily from gray wool, with red cloth and white ribbon trim, white cloth inner lining, woven exterior buttons and brass interior loop and hook closures. The included belt and sash are both faced with silver and maroon ribbon and backed with red leather, the belt including a pair of sword hangers and a gold accented "lion" buckle, and the sash terminating in a set of tassels. A set single "Bath star" pips are attached to the collar, with the epaulettes faced with silver and silver ribbon, backed with red leather and velvet, trimmed with silver wire, and bearing a crown over an English coat of arms over a monogram, and a "57/EK" silver button at the top. In existence from 1760 to 1953, the East Kent Militia served both as a territorial defense unit during times of emergency as well as a "feeder" organization to the regular Army, while also being deployed as the Militia to Ireland in 1811-1813, Malta in 1855 for the Crimean War, and saw active engagement during the Boer War. No individual markings were found on the items.

Rating Definition:

Good overall, with some moth activity and mild wear. Some of the mounting hardware is absent from the epaulettes.
