7-1/8 inch double edge blade with rounded tip. Obviously made from a file as vestiges of the pattern remain. The hilt has a thin brass cross guard and a straight grain wood hilt decorated with a brass strap. A tag accompanying the knife claims that it was taken from a dead Confederate at Antietam.
