This gun was made in 1887, and factory records list it as a 44/C-Russian cartridge, 5-1/2 inch, blue revolver shipped to Colt's London Agency on February Third of that year. It is interesting to note that no British proofs are on the gun. Blade front sight on barrel with single line Hartford address on top and "44" on the underside. The cylinder is numbered "399" (matching) on the rear face and the trigger guard is stamped "44 CAL" on the left side. A lanyard ring is mounted on the butt of the gun, and the grips are checkered bird's head hard rubber with Rampant Colt logos at the top and triangle patterns at the base. Excellent, with approximately 90% of the bright original blue finish. The balance is a satin gray at the muzzle and sharp edges, a brown/gray on the backstrap, and some light scratches and dings overall. The grips are excellent, with some scratching and dings. The action is excellent.
