Manufactured in 1933 as one of only 2,500 Colt Shooting Master revolvers built in .38 Special, with this being one of the finest that we at Rock Island Auction have ever had the pleasure to catalog. The top of the barrel is marked with the standard two-line address and patent dates and the left is marked "COLT SHOOTING MASTER .38". The left side of the frame has the "VP" proof and Rampant Colt at the rear on the sideplate. The matching serial number is marked on the frame and crane. Both the front and back gripstraps have the standard deep factory checkering. The revolver is fitted with a pinned Patridge blade front sight and adjustable notch rear sight, and a pair of checkered walnut grips with Colt medallions. Includes the original green leatherette box numbered on the floor of the interior, matching number original test target, and Colt "Shooting Suggestions" and "Special Instructions pamphlets.
