Description:

The Colt Bisley model was only manufactured in 1894-1912. For many, the Bisley feels better in the hand and cocks and fires easier thanks to its lower and wider hammer and the wider trigger making them excellent sidearms for serious marksmen, especially those with a lever action rifle in the same caliber. This classic example was manufactured in 1908 and is chambered in .32-20 W.C.F., a cartridge known for its accuracy. It has a factory replacement one-line Hartford address on top of the barrel and "(BISLEY MODEL)" and the caliber marking on the left. The left of the frame is marked with the two-line patent dates and circled Rampant Colt. "989B" assembly number is marked on three locations on the grip frame under the grip panels and "989B" is repeated on the rear of the cylinder and barrel under the ejector rod housing. Matching serial numbers are visible on the frame, trigger guard, and back strap, and the assembly number "1790" is on the inside of the loading gate. The included factory letter states the revolver was shipped on March 27, 1908 to Strevell-Patersen Hardware Co. of Salt Lake City, Utah, with a 7 1/2 inch barrel in .32-20 caliber and blue finish. This was a single gun shipment.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retaining 97% factory refurbished blue finish with traces of a cylinder drag line, scattered high edge wear, and thinning on the backstrap. The frame retains 95% plus case colors. The grips are also very fine with softened checkering. Mechanically excellent.
