Manufactured in 1915 and later refurbished by Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Co. with recut markings and engraving. Built with blued steel barrels with a single nickel bead sight on the matted concave solid rib, "CHROMOX FLUID COMPRESS STEEL" and "MADE BY A. H. FOX Co. PHILA. PA. U.S.A." marked on the right and left tubes respectively, 2 3/4 inch wedges of floral scroll engraving at either breech, and chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are mated to a fine casehardened boxlock action which displays the beautiful DE Grade engraving consisting of floral scrollwork surrounding "ANSLEY H. FOX" banners on either side as well as three separate game scenes, the left scene with a pair of geese in flight, the underside showing a setter on point, and the right with a pair of grouse in flight. The gun features a Fox-Kautely single selective trigger and tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is fitted with a beautifully figured and fancy checkered forend with ebony tip inlay and engraved fittings as well as a straight grip stock with checkered flats and a hard rubber buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .663/.663 inches; choke constriction .005/.018 inches; minimum wall thickness .043/.044 inches; 1 3/4 inch drop at comb; 2 5/8 inch drop at heel; 13 13/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 5 oz.

Very fine as refurbished, retaining 99% blue and casehardened finishes with minor handling evidence, some pock marking in the wood on the forend, and sharp recut checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent.
