Description:

This is one of only 3,630 Model 16 revolvers S&W manufactured over a 26 year period starting in 1947. It is the rarest of the standard K-Masterpiece series. The accompanying factory letter states the revolver was shipped on June 29, 1972 and delivered to Jonas Arms & Aircraft Co., Wall St., New York City with a 6 inch barrel, blue finish and checkered walnut grips. As confirmed by the July 29, 2005 dated S&W factory invoice in the name of Dave Ballantyne, the revolver was returned to the S&W factory where it was refinished in nickel and had the action repaired. The revolver has a three screw frame and smooth walnut Magna grips (revarnished). Comes with an unnumbered S&W K-32 gold box. Provenance: The Dave Ballantyne Collection

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retaining 99% plus of the S&W factory refinished nickel plating with a light cylinder drag line and limited handling marks. The grips are excellent. The box is fine with a tape repaired lid corner. Mechanically excellent.
