Manufactured in 1980. An earlier production example with pinned barrel and cylinder counterbored, safety features which were subsequently deemed unnecessary and eliminated in 1982 with the Model 629-1. Knowledgeable collectors estimate only 100 stainless steel pinned and recessed Model 629s were factory engraved. Features fixed orange ramp blade front and adjustable tangent rear sights, matted top strap and rib, with 70% coverage of Class A floral scroll engraving across the frame, cylinder, and barrel. Fitted with a set of oiled goncalo alves grips with silver S&W monogram medallions. Includes blue box, cleaning tools, walnut display case, and shipping box.

Excellent overall, with limited handling marks, a light cylinder drag line, and crisp engraving. The display case has a disintegrating felt interior but is otherwise very fine. Box is fine with a crease. Mechanically excellent.
