A semi-automatic paratrooper version of the famous FN-FAL rifle manufactured by Fabrique Nationale (FN) in Belgium, marketed by the HOWCO company in Maryland as the M44 for Law Enforcement sales. These rifles have all the same features as the FN-FAL rifle except they were produced in a smaller, more compact version (known as the 50.63 model) that features an 18 inch barrel and folding metal tube stock. The right side of the magazine well marked "HOWCO DIST. INC./LAUREL MD. U.S.A." Features winged post front and fixed peep rear sights, an adjustable gas regulator with folding grenade launching sight leaf, rifle grenade launching ported muzzle device, and side folding charging handle.
