Manufactured in 1893, the second year of production, this is a very fine example of a standard configuration Winchester Model 1892 rifle. The top of the barrel is marked with the standard two-line address and the caliber marking at the breech. The upper tang has the three-line model, trademark, and patent information, and the serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver. It is fitted with a German silver blade front sight and an elevation adjustable buckhorn/sporting rear sight. It is mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.

Fine, retains 70% of the original blue finish, 30% of the faint original case colors, and strong traces of the original nitre blue on the loading gate with the balance having thinned to a smooth grey patina and a few scattered small spots of brown oxidation. The wood is also fine with some scattered light handling marks and wear visible on the forearm. Mechanically excellent. This Winchester Model 1892 would make a fine addition to your collection!
