Manufactured in 1904 and subsequently refurbished by the factory to current configuration. The later production lightweight tapered round barrel has the two-line Winchester legend, "MADE IN U.S.A.," nickel steel marking, and "33 WCF" all on the left side and is fitted with a Lyman white bead blade front sight mounted on a pedestal and an elevation adjustable rear sight. The rifle is in takedown configuration with 3/4 length magazine. The deluxe XX walnut forearm and pistol grip stock feature factory "H" style checkering. The stock has hard rubber Winchester grip cap and shotgun buttplate. The left side of the lower tang is marked "XX 857." Excellent, retaining 90% plus factory refinished blue finish with the top rear tang, loading gate retainer, and forend cap flaked to brown. The wood is very fine with some minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. A representative example of a Winchester Deluxe Model 1886 lightweight takedown rifle.
