Description:

This interesting four barrel percussion shotgun has Damascus pattern barrels with a post front sight and "INVON. DE FELIX P.P.PE DE LA MANUFRE ROYLE DE MAUBEUGE 1828" on the upper rib, "DOMBERT FRERES" on the bottom left barrel, and "Maubeuge" on the bottom right barrel. The boxlock action has external mainsprings for the four hammers and two triggers. Pulling the trigger back part way releases the upper hammers while a full pull will release both or the lower hammer if the upper has already been fired. The nicely figured two-piece pistol grip stock has a long rounded cheek rest on the left and a steel buttplate. The rear ramrod pipe has a slot for securing a forearm with a wedge.

Rating Definition:

Very good with light Damascus patterns visible along the barrels, mottled gray and brown patina overall, light oxidation, a couple of absent screws (trigger guard and top plate), and mild overall wear. The loosely fitting stock is good with some separation at the joint of the butt to the grip, repaired crack at the toe, some small chips, spots repaired in the grain, and mild scratches and dings. Mechanically fine.
