Manufactured in the Soviet Union and dated "1973" on the trigger housing, this is a fine RPG-7D shoulder fired recoilless rocket launcher. One of the signature weapons of the USSR as well as one of the most famous rocket launchers of the 20th century, the RPG-7 was developed in the 1960s and remains in active production and service to this day, with new payloads developed to keep the launcher relevant on the 21st century battlefield. The "7D" variant uses a takedown launch tube, breaking down into a 23 inch front section with all the firing and aiming hardware and a 16 inch rear section. The front section is fitted with a set of flip up iron sights and a left side scope rail, dual pistol grips, and a rebounding hammer mechanism with a pushbutton safety. The underside of the front tube bears the address of Neal Smith of Mentor, Ohio, who is recorded as the manufacturer/importer for tax stamp purposes, and the serial number (transliterated: (N) IaL453) on the left side of the housing above the "arrow in oval" factory mark and date. Both the front and rear sections are finished with black paint, with a wood panel veneer around the central section of the tube and a wide exhaust cone at the rear. Included with the lot is a PGO-7B scope.

Very fine, with 80% plus matte black finish, showing some light scuffs and flakes, with areas of brown patinated steel visible. A few screws are absent from the clamps retaining the wood veneer on the rear section of the tube, otherwise the veneer is in good order with mild scuffs and some crazing of the varnish. Optics are in good order, with the illuminator untested. Mechanically excellent.
