Description:

Manufactured in America using a new-made receiver tube combined with vintage components, this is an excellent example of the MP28/II "Schmeisser" submachine gun. An evolution of Schmeisser's MP18 submachine gun, the MP28/II was a popular export item between the World Wars, and was more or less directly copied by the British to make the WWII Lancaster submachine gun. Blade front and tangent rear sights, with the original model and patent markings on top of the magazine well next to the added serial number, and the Goldman markings/address on the underside of the receiver tube. A traditional hook safety is present, along with a selector switch above the trigger, with a smooth pistol grip stock and a brown leather sling.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 90% plus refinished blue (as applied by Goldman to both the new-made and military surplus components), with some pitting on the vintage parts, scattered light scratching and spotting, and mild handling marks overall. The stock is very good, with a small crack forming on the right side above the selector switch. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 479.
