Description:

A refinement of the Mark I Hotchkiss Portable, the Mark I* upgraded the feed system to accept ammunition belts, while retaining backwards compatibility to the Mark I's rigid strip loaders. Left offset blade front and fixed tubular rear sights, with the feed mechanism marked for both belt and strip feeding, standard markings on the left side of the receiver, metal forearm, and a hardwood buttstock with a flip-up shoulder rest. The left side of the receiver is also marked "JPL T AZ85653", a marking associated with Arizona-based NFA collector/expert Pat Tomlinson.

Rating Definition:

Fine as assembled, with 70% of the blue finish, showing areas of brown and gray patina, traces of old varnish or grease, scattered handling marks and some light dings and scratches. The stock is cracked at the wrist and near the monopod socket, with scuffs, dents and chips. Mechanically fine. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 479.
