Description:

Originally designed by Theodor Bergmann, this example was manufactured by the Pieper firm of Herstal-Liege, Belgium, and is one of 4,840 of the variation ordered by Denmark in 1910 for military use, with deliveries completed by 1912. The Danish contract Model 1910 pistols had slight improvements over the Model 1908 that preceded it, including semicircular cutouts at the bottom of the magazine well for use with magazines using concentric gripping surfaces, an "S" shaped mainspring, enlarged magazine catch and slightly larger grips. Features fixed blade front and notch rear sights, checkered walnut grips with a lanyard loop on the butt, left side of the receiver marked "BREVETE./S.G.D.G." followed by the three-line Pieper address and Bergmann's patent marking, Belgian proofs on the right of the barrel, receiver, and frame, Danish contract/property number "2537" marked at the right rear of the slide, and Danish "crown/D" acceptance stamp on the left of the frame. Matching serial number located underneath the front flat of the frame, on some of the internal components, on the magazine currently in the pistol, and stamped into the interior of both grip panels.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retaining 85% original arsenal blue finish with limited minor edge wear, limited light spotting/pitting along with signs of cleaning/thinning of the affected areas (primarily on the right side of the extension), and minor handling marks. The grips are also very fine with a light scratch in the left panel and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
