Description:

This is an excellent example of a desirable early-production DWM Model 1900 Commercial Luger pistol. These pistols were the true first commercial contract Luger pistols produced by DWM and can be found in the 2000-19000 serial number range, with this specific pistol being an earlier production pistol. These pistols were specifically intended for sales in the U.S. market, which is why "GERMANY" is marked on the front of frame under the serial number. This pistol has all the early desirable Luger features, such as the early long frame with the "Crown over B/U" proofs, dished toggles with toggle lock on the right side, recessed breechblock, 4 3/4 inch fast tapered barrel, grip safety and no stock lug. This specific pistol was fitted with the later and desirable hold-open device. They had superb hand fitted parts with the pre-war high polish rust blue finish with the straw colored small parts and checkered walnut grips. The lower safety area is unmarked and left with the bright polished. It is correctly serial numbered in the commercial fashion with the serial number under the barrel and on the front of the frame. It is complete with one original magazine with the nickel plated body and the unnumbered wooden base.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 90% plus of the original blue finish, with wear and blue loss on the edges and high spots overall with a small spot of pitting on the left side of the barrel with the blue finish on the grip straps just starting to oxidize out. The various small parts retain 60% plus of their straw colors with most of the finish loss on the face of the trigger itself. The grips are also excellent with nice checkering on both grip panels and a small pressure dent on the right side directly behind the magazine release button. The pistol has all matching numbered parts with the firing pin and magazine both correctly unnumbered. A nice example of a scarce DWM 1900 Commercial Luger pistol.
